Social Six: The 6 things your audience wants from your socials…

The Social Six brings you 6 things every month you need to be across when it comes to the world of social media.

Written by Gambit Collective’s Social Media Account Manager - Laura Hodges.

As a part of WPP House at SXSW Sydney (a recent activation Gambit Collective produced), TikTok hosted a session on Accountability in the Attention War.

Missed it?

Don’t worry, we spoke to Andrew Cambridge, Head of Agency at TikTok (AU7NZ) and he shared the six ways that brands can engage their audience. Your consumers want:

ONE: To be entertained

Often people head to social media for a moment of escape from the day, a little laughter or entertainment.

TWO: To learn something new

Teach your audience something valuable.

THREE: To see you taking part in trends

Join in with popular trends, but make sure it relates to your brand, product or audience in some way.

FOUR: To feel joy

Spread genuine joy. Introduce your staff, share heart-warming testimonials or giveaway product in the street.

FIVE: To discover new brands or products

Show them how your product can solve a relatable problem. If your brand isn’t posting, then you’re not discoverable

SIX: A chance to be seen or express themselves

Individuality and authenticity is widely celebrated on social media in today’s day and age. Involve your community in your content and celebrate them

Brands need to be adding value to people’s lives.

They no longer just want to be sold to.
